Some songs are born in a studio. “Blood In The Water” was born in the space between a testament to a connection so immediate it defied geography, a creative dialogue conducted across oceans. It’s the debut single from Swiss producer Numa and Ghanaian singer-songwriter TSIE, releasing July 11, 2025, and a powerful reminder that creativity knows no borders.

The story began with a brief conversation backstage in Berlin Funkhaus, after a moving performance by TSIE. A shared artistic respect — then, a departure. TSIE returned to Accra the next morning. Numa soon after went back to his studio in Basel. But something had sparked.

Over the months that followed, music passed between them. Numa sent a rough instrumental; what came back was a vocal so raw and emotionally honest, it became the undeniable soul of the entire project.

“Blood In The Water” blends two worlds — not just geographically, but musically. It’s built on a deep, laid-back groove, with hazy, atmospheric synths and space to breathe. There’s a calm intensity in the production — understated, but powerful. The beat merges with an ancestral soul that flows from West Africa, creating a sound that is both deeply rooted and strikingly modern.

At its center is TSIE’s voice and his devastatingly honest narrative. This is a song that gives a name to the paralyzing space between two people on the precipice of love or loss. It is about the love that exists, and the fear that suffocates it. As TSIE himself defines the song’s powerful metaphor, it is about “the inner wounds that arise when two people love each other – yet neither dares to make the first move.”

This is not a collaboration; it is a shared thought. “Blood In The Water” is a haunting, beautiful, and deeply human record that asks one simple question: What do you risk when you finally dare to move?

Numa @usernuma
Numa is an electronic music producer and DJ from Basel, Switzerland. He discovered his passion for creating music at a young age, and soon after released his first tracks. His debut single, Always You (2020) went viral at a time when many people needed hope and courage more than ever. It was released on his own label, Numa 将来 (Shourai) Productions.

In 2021, he moved to Berlin to study sound engineering and further develop as an artist. During this time, he gained his first DJ experience within the Berlin club scene.

Now again based in Switzerland, Numa focuses on creating honest, emotional electronic music — often in collaboration with vocalists. His work is rooted in storytelling and aims to move people in a way that feels real and timeless.

TSIE @tsieotsie
TSIE is a Singer-songwriter and producer based in Accra. Formerly known as Daddo Gyan, He changed his name in 2022 to reflect a deeper and more natural shift in his artistic purpose. TSIE, an Mfantse word meaning “Listen,” symbolizes his belief that music should inspire connection, reflection, and emotional depth. TSIE is also an acronym that stands for Truth Still Is Everything – the antithesis to “Fake it till you make it,” – the advice he received most when he began his career.

TSIE is an avid collaborator, having worked with notable artists such as Lagos In Paris, CUTTS, Sway Dasafo, Adomaa, and most recently, Numa. His work has also been featured in award-winning films, TV commercials, and two short films for the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

His sound is a fusion of Ghana’s folk traditions and popular genres like Palmwine, Soul, Blues, Rap, and Reggae. With raw, raspy vocals set against minimalist instrumentation—often just piano or guitar—He invites listeners into an intimate world where stories about life, loss, and love are told with brutal honesty and Ghanaian “vim.”
