Cape Verdean singer Josslyn returns with a powerful statement in her latest single, “Baby Mama,” a melodic and emotionally charged kizomba track centered on self-love, healing, and the courage to walk away from toxic cycles. The single is now available on all streaming platforms, accompanied by a stunning visualizer filmed in São Vicente and directed by the Kriol Box collective, with production by Débora Melício.

Blending warm kizomba grooves with personal, heartfelt storytelling, Baby Mama showcases Josslyn’s signature style, one that’s as intimate as it is bold. With vocal arrangements by Nelly Cruz and Dwayne Spencer, the track delivers emotional depth and sonic richness.

Josslyn’s vocal performance stands out with finesse and confidence. Her voice glides effortlessly through the track, capturing the emotion of the lyrics while maintaining a sense of power and control. The production remains simple yet impactful, giving her vocals room to shine while enhancing the song’s melodic core.

Baby Mama is about choosing yourself, your peace, your growth, your happiness,” Josslyn shares. “It’s a message for anyone who’s ever felt stuck in a cycle they knew they had to break.”

This release marks another milestone in Josslyn’s career as she prepares to debut in Angola’s first-ever horror film, “Maldito Amor,” alongside acclaimed actor Sílvio Nascimento. Her recent success with tracks like “Malibu” (a collaboration with MC Acondize) and features with Djodje, Hélio Batalha, and Jimmy P has solidified her as one of the most exciting voices in the Lusophone music scene.

With her upcoming EP set to arrive this June, “Baby Mama” offers a compelling preview of what’s to come — a continued exploration of identity, emotion, and empowerment, always anchored by Josslyn’s unmistakable vocal presence.
