Supertrendt Reimagines a Classic With a Reggae-Pop Twist on “Fire”

Some songs never lose their spark. “Fire,” written by Bruce Springsteen and made iconic by The Pointer Sisters, has remained a staple in pop culture for decades. Now, Dutch artist Supertrendt delivers a fresh take with a relaxed reggae-pop reinterpretation.

Rather than recreating the original, Supertrendt shifts the song into a warm, Caribbean-influenced rhythm. The slow-burning tension of the original transforms into something lighter, more playful, and rhythmically engaging. While the melody stays familiar, the atmosphere feels entirely new.

This approach aligns with Supertrendt’s creative direction, “Songs with a Twist.” The concept focuses on reworking well-known records by placing them in new musical settings, allowing them to evolve instead of remaining unchanged.

In this version, the opening line — “I’m driving in your car, you turn on the radio…” — flows over a sunny groove that blends reggae elements with modern pop production. The result balances nostalgia with a refreshed sound, offering listeners a new perspective on a familiar track.

Released independently from the Netherlands, “Fire” by Supertrendt is now available on all major streaming platforms and continues to gain traction through independent playlists and radio discovery.
