Dust Choir’s Dust and Sand brings together ten songs shaped by roads, landscapes, memory and the passage of time. Released in June 2026, the album is the first full-length project from the songwriting partnership of Ed Reilly and Lee Thompson, following their earlier EP Tide and Time.
The album moves between classic rock, Americana, and folk, with echoes of Celtic melody and storytelling woven into its sound. Its songs explore love, loss, redemption, and distance, often using physical landscapes to reflect the emotional journeys unfolding within them. Each track works independently, but recurring images and ideas give the album a sense of connection from beginning to end.
Dust Choir is built around the contrasting strengths of its two members. Reilly writes the songs, while Thompson, a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer, develops them through arrangement, performance and production. Their partnership places the songwriting at the centre, allowing the melodies, stories and atmosphere to shape the direction of each track.
Rather than chasing current sounds, Dust and Sand draws from the traditions of songwriting that have influenced generations of artists. The result is a record that gives its stories room to breathe, moving between reflective moments and fuller arrangements without losing its sense of identity.
Dust Choir has already received radio support across the UK, Europe, Australia and North America, with independent presenters and specialist programmes backing their music. As Dust and Sand continues to reach listeners, the duo remains focused on creating songs with enough substance to stay with people long after the first listen.
