Dr. M. introduces a new musical direction with Follow Me, the debut album from what he describes as a new subgenre called Adult Metal, combining the sound of Adult Contemporary with the intensity of heavy metal. The nine-track project brings together melodic songwriting and heavier musical elements, with Maria Moon delivering vocals throughout the album.
A self-employed musician, songwriter, and producer, the 39-year-old Dr. M. wrote all of the music for Follow Me and most of the lyrics. He also programmed the drums and other instruments, handled all of the mixing, and shaped the production of the album himself. The project brings together several musicians, with Moon serving as its lead vocalist throughout the nine songs.
The album also reflects Dr. M.’s hands-on approach to making music. From songwriting and programming to recording and mixing, much of the creative process was handled independently, giving him control over the sound and direction of the project. The final mastering was completed by Svante Forsbäck, a Grammy-winning mastering engineer.
With Follow Me, Dr. M. presents his first full album while introducing his idea of Adult Metal as a meeting point between two distinct musical worlds. The project is built around nine songs that place Maria Moon’s vocals at the center, supported by Dr. M.’s songwriting, production, and work across the instrumentation.
