The Kumasi-born artist reimagining Highlife through alternative R&B, soul and pop celebrates his first international nomination, following his Telecel Ghana Music Awards win and the release of “No Place.”
Ghanaian singer Asiama has been nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year at the Taabea Ghana Music Awards UK, marking his first international nomination. Celebrating its tenth edition, the awards ceremony takes place on 31 October 2026 at The Royal Regency, London.
Born Emmanuel Asiamah Mensah in Kumasi, Asiama is becoming a name audiences are coming to know. His music draws on alternative R&B, soul and pop, with Highlife and his Ghanaian roots shaping his musical identity. He received two nominations at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, including Record of the Year, and won Best Male Vocal Performance.
