Nigerian singer and songwriter Daniel Christian, professionally known as Da Chris, returns with “Chop Life,” a vibrant new record that celebrates enjoyment, positivity and making the most of life. Hailing from Rivers State and currently signed to London Boyz (LB), Da Chris continues to showcase his versatility through a sound rooted in African musical influences and expressive vocals.
Da Chris began his musical journey at a young age, starting with brigade drumming in 2010. That early experience helped introduce him to rhythm and performance, while his vocal ability and songwriting talent encouraged him to pursue music more seriously. In 2020, he took a major step toward a professional career with the release of his debut record, “Loli,” featuring Dan Dizzy. The song received notable acceptance and gave him further confidence to continue developing his sound.
With “Chop Life,” Da Chris brings listeners an energetic record designed to capture attention from the opening beat. The production combines traditional African drums with acoustic guitar, saxophone and piano melodies, creating a lively instrumental arrangement that gives the song its distinctive character.
One of the track’s defining elements is its choral-style chorus, which adds a rich, almost angelic quality to the record. This melodic approach complements the upbeat instrumentation, giving “Chop Life” a celebratory atmosphere that encourages listeners to embrace life’s positive moments.
The single also highlights Da Chris’s musical versatility, bringing together his vocal delivery, songwriting and appreciation for layered instrumentation. Building on the foundation established by his earlier release, he uses “Chop Life” to further establish his identity as an artist while exploring a sound that blends African rhythms with accessible melodies.
With “Chop Life,” Da Chris continues his journey as a Nigerian artist focused on creating engaging, feel-good music. The release offers another look at his evolving artistry and his ambition to connect with listeners through vibrant sounds and a positive spirit.
