Emerging Ghanaian-born hip-hop artist and producer Nicc Duodu, known professionally as Saint Nicc, is continuing to carve out his own space in music with Glass & Stones, a new four-track EP that places emotional honesty, introspective songwriting and meaningful storytelling at the forefront.

With a sound that draws from hip-hop, ambient production and late-night R&B influences, Saint Nicc is building an artistic identity that moves beyond conventional genre expectations. His music combines the storytelling sensibilities of his Ghanaian roots with a contemporary sonic approach designed to connect with listeners across different backgrounds.

On Glass & Stones, the artist turns his attention to the experiences that define personal growth. The project explores heartbreak, grief, family responsibilities, faith and the difficult process of accepting one’s imperfections. Rather than presenting himself as someone who has overcome every struggle, Saint Nicc uses the EP to document the uncertainty, mistakes and lessons that accompany the journey.

The project’s opening track, “Dworwulu Junction,” introduces these themes through reflections on responsibility, trust and the desire to build a lasting legacy. Nicc also addresses the expectations placed on men, challenging the idea that expressing emotions should be interpreted as weakness.

“Pain & Desire” follows with a deeply spiritual reflection on loss. Through its haunting questions directed towards heaven, the track captures the emotional distance between those left behind and the reassurance they wish they could receive from loved ones who have passed.

On “Find Love,” Saint Nicc shifts towards romantic relationships, exploring what happens when affection is not supported by emotional readiness and understanding. The song’s candid admission of recognising someone’s vulnerability without truly responding to their needs gives the record an especially personal dimension.

The EP’s final track, “Devil Lies,” introduces themes of resistance and determination. Addressing fear, manipulation, materialism and self-doubt, Nicc explores the importance of protecting one’s ambitions and maintaining faith when faced with discouraging influences.

The name Glass & Stones brings these different experiences together. While glass represents the fragile aspects of human emotion, stones symbolise the strength that develops through adversity. The contrast reflects Saint Nicc’s belief that acknowledging one’s struggles is an essential part of becoming stronger.

His approach to music has been evident since What If I Scream, a breakthrough project that established his interest in exploring childhood experiences, family relationships and personal identity. Songs such as “Son of My Father” offered an early glimpse into his ability to transform difficult subjects into reflective musical experiences.

With Glass & Stones, Saint Nicc further establishes his commitment to creating music with emotional depth and lasting meaning. The project is another step in his development as an artist and producer, offering listeners an opportunity to connect with the experiences behind the music.

As he continues to shape his sound and artistic direction, Nicc Duodu is making a case for a more reflective approach to hip-hop, one where honesty, faith and personal storytelling remain just as important as the music itself.
