DA-MOVEMENT connects generations of Chicago hip-hop on “All Black Everything,” a record that pairs AK of Do or Die with Never of Crucial Conflict, anchored by the soulful R&B vocals of J. Harris. The track leans into the West Side sound, driven by steady basslines and a laid-back tempo that fits both cruising and club play. It carries a familiar energy without sounding dated, staying grounded in a style that has always been part of the city’s identity. The pairing of the legends AK of Do or Die and Never of Crucial Conflict has never happened before until now.
The record is already gaining massive global traction.
It recently peaked at #39 on the Digital DJ Pool chart and currently sits in the Top 5 percent (95th percentile) worldwide for Hip Hop and R&B. It also holds a perfect 10.0 Venue Reach score, actively spinning in over 456 clubs across 130 countries. These numbers reflect how the track is performing in real environments where DJs and listeners decide what lasts.
DA-MOVEMENT was formed with a clear purpose. Founded by Pompey Hicks, also known as Pay, alongside Qraft, the group focuses on music that carries weight in both sound and message. Pay has described their approach as delivering beats alongside soul and lyrics that speak with intention. That direction shapes their debut project, “DA-MOVEMENT MUZIC,” where the focus stays on clarity, feeling, and strong collaboration.
While J. Harris provides the vocal foundation for “All Black Everything,” the late, legendary Johnny P remains central to the group’s broader identity and upcoming catalog. Long before becoming the undisputed “Hook King” of Chicago hip-hop, Johnny P was a classically trained child prodigy. In 1989, at just 16 years old, he signed a multi-million-dollar deal with Columbia Records. This major-label foundation placed him on world tours alongside superstars like Whitney Houston, The Jacksons, and Michael Bolton, and even earned him personal mentorship from Luther Vandross.

He eventually transitioned this massive R&B and pop pedigree to the gritty Chicago hip-hop scene. His gospel-drenched vocals on multi-platinum records like Do or Die’s “Po Pimp,” Twista’s “Emotions,” and Scarface and 2Pac’s “Smile” forever defined the city’s melodic street sound. Within DA-MOVEMENT, his iconic influence and unreleased archives continue to shape the group’s foundation.
Dennis “AK” Round, representing the legendary group Do or Die, brings his elite, rapid-fire lyrical precision to the forefront. Known globally for helping pioneer the fast-paced, melodic Midwest chopper style, AK’s verse on “All Black Everything” is a masterclass in breath control and rhythm. His inclusion on the track not only elevates the lyrical bar but officially cements this historic, unprecedented union of Do or Die and Crucial Conflict on the same record.
Never, also known as Marrico “Never” King, brings an entirely different level of raw energy to the track. As a founding member of the legendary Crucial Conflict, he is known for his signature rapid-fire delivery and untamed Midwest grit. On “All Black Everything,” his unmistakable flow cuts through the beat, adding that authentic Chicago West Side aggression that keeps the track high-octane and deeply rooted in the streets.
The group’s catalog continues to expand around that foundation. “All Black Everything REMIX,” released on December 12, 2025, builds on the original record with additional collaborations. “This Is What It Sound Like,” released on December 17, 2025, is where Johnny P’s signature vocal style is truly highlighted. Unreleased tracks such as “Hey Girl,” “24’s,” and “She Hot” show the depth of material still to come, with “24’s FT Johnny P & Never of Crucial Conflict” expected in June 2026.
“All Black Everything” reflects a focused approach to music rooted in Chicago’s history while remaining active in current rotation.
