Rising star EMZ has released his highly anticipated new single “Danger, Gevaar, Ingozi.” This groundbreaking track represents a significant milestone in EMZ’s musical journey as he fully embraces his heritage and honors his long lineage of musical ancestors.

“Danger, Gevaar, Ingozi,” translated as “I walk with my ancestors, so tread carefully; I’m dangerous,” intertwines Afrikaans and Zulu languages, symbolizing the rich cultural tapestry of South Africa. The title reflects EMZ’s deep connection to his roots and the powerful influence of his ancestors on his artistry. The song’s message is clear: diamonds are formed under pressure, and this song is destined to shine like a diamond.

Born on December 30, 1996, in Mpumalanga Mbombela, EMZ discovered his musical talent at the tender age of 13. He began his journey by recording songs on Virtual DJ, mixing his vocals onto house tracks during a period when house music dominated the South African scene. With limited resources, he creatively utilized earphones and a voice recorder, transferring his phone-recorded vocals to his sister’s laptop to mix beats and vocals.

Throughout high school, EMZ was part of a rap group with friends, blending Hip-Hop and R&B, which deepened his musical knowledge and honed his production skills. In 2016, after completing high school, he released his first mixtape, “Mansa Muzi,” recorded in Johannesburg, marking the start of his professional career.

In 2022, EMZ released his album “Nobody Believed,” a significant success that solidified his place in the music industry. Currently, he is working on a new album, aiming to reach unprecedented heights and hoping that his hard work will be reflected in his forthcoming projects.

“Danger, Gevaar, Ingozi” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
