Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Hip-hop artist Everglades Boss returns with a striking and emotional new single titled “Poverty.” Born in Miami, Florida, and now based in South Carolina, Everglades Boss brings forward a deeply personal story shaped by real hardship, loss, and the fight to keep going. The track blends a unique Viking-style vocal delivery, heartfelt storytelling, and powerful production that sets it apart in today’s Hip Hop/Rap scene.

“Poverty” was produced by Top Dre of Drum Majors ATL, a well-known producer and artist in the Atlanta music scene. The two met at A.B.S Studios in Atlanta while Everglades Boss was filming the music video for his previous single “IMAH DO.” After hearing some of Top Dre’s new beats, filled with sharp drum lines, rich rhythms, and bold energy, Everglades Boss purchased several and began crafting lyrics in his signature unorthodox, strong, and melodic delivery. Their creative chemistry has since led to multiple collaborations.

The new single was recorded at It’s the Frat Studios in Marietta, Georgia and mixed and mastered by engineer Havell Teylar, known for his clean, professional production style. The cover artwork was created by Kdough of Traps N Trunks, adding visual power to the single’s emotional story.

“Poverty” is one of Everglades Boss’s most personal releases to date. The song carries real stories from his life, moments filled with emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual challenges. From growing up in Miami, to raising two sons as a single parent in one of Florida’s wealthiest counties, to losing his condo during the 2008–2012 housing crash, Everglades Boss has lived through some of the hardest realities that everyday people face.

He opens up about family loss, loved ones in prison, financial struggles, and the constant pressure of trying to stay focused in a world full of greed, temptation, and corruption. He also reflects on his Haitian and French family roots, the influence of Kompa music at home, and the diverse musical culture that shaped him, from classic rock and reggae to soul, Latin music, and the early days of hip-hop.

Reading the Holy Scriptures, especially the book of Proverbs, helped guide him through dark times and kept him grounded. Now, he uses his music to motivate others, encouraging people to show kindness, push through hard times, and never give up on what they love.

Musically, “Poverty” stands out with its gripping drums, bold bassline, and piano-led rhythm. Everglades Boss crafted his lyrics around the production’s emotional weight, building a chorus designed for unity and empowerment. The hook is simple, memorable, and motivational, created to inspire crowds to join in and reflect on their own lives.

The artist explains that he used a “Viking and smooth barbaric style flow” to give the track a different feeling. Every song he records is based on his mood and the message he wants to give listeners, adding unique ad-libs and vocal textures to create a signature sound. His goal is always to bring a “Boss-style musical arrangement” while staying true to his roots.

Everglades Boss continues to build momentum through performances, studio work, and networking across music platforms and social media. He recently performed at Solid State Studio in Atlanta, GA, filming scenes for his single “Circulate” and preparing visuals for his new releases. His goal is to collaborate with hungry artists, talented producers, and dedicated DJs who share his vision of pushing hip-hop forward.

Because of its strong message and high energy, “Poverty” is a perfect fit for clubs, music festivals, movies, parties, and major events, delivering both rhythm and meaningful storytelling.
