Yango Roots returns with “World of Competition,” a powerful new single delivered in both English and Creole, offering a bold and timely message for a world increasingly driven by pressure, comparison, and systemic division. In this striking release, the Reunion Island collective challenges the forces of Babylon, the systems that push people to compete, prove themselves, and at times turn against one another.
The track comes to life through a remarkable creative team: Lunaïc on recording and mixing, Manjul providing iconic trumpet and brass arrangements, and Damien “Bobby” Coutrot of Baco Studio handling mastering. Their combined craftsmanship elevates the single’s emotional and cultural weight, creating a work that feels both urgent and timeless.
Dynamic, ambitious, and rooted in authenticity, Yango Roots continues to rise as ambassadors of the new wave of Reggae Made in Reunion Island. Their sound blends Creole, English, and French with heartfelt lyrics that reflect today’s realities while holding true to reggae’s spirit of resistance, unity, and truth.
Following a series of prestigious opening performances, including Clinton Fearon, The Wailers, Burning Spear, and Marcus Gad — the group gained significant momentum in 2025 with the release of “Brother Soul,” mastered by Baco Studio. “World of Competition” marks the next leap forward, solidifying their growing reputation and expanding their impact on the global reggae scene.
