Zimzalabim, the artistic moniker of multi-talented musician Patrik Byström, has released his deeply personal new album, Heart of a Lion. Written, performed, recorded, and produced entirely by Byström himself, the album stands as a testament to his artistic vision and technical skill. Enhanced by the enchanting backing vocals of Angelica “Zionessa” Svensson, this introspective yet uplifting collection of songs offers a message of hope and resilience in challenging times.
Recorded in Byström’s home studio in Kalmar during the summer of 2025, Heart of a Lion draws inspiration from the artist’s own experiences as well as the world’s collective search for humanity and connection. With influences ranging from the timeless messages of Bob Marley to contemporary reggae and folk sounds, Zimzalabim has created a musical offering that feels both classic and urgently modern.
The album opens with “Coming Our Way,” a track that introduces listeners to Zimzalabim’s calm, bouncy flow and authentic reggae influences.
