South African rapper J Molley has announced his decision to retire from the music industry, a revelation that came just hours after pulling out of a highly anticipated joint EP with Emtee.
J Molley explained that Emtee’s lack of commitment and professionalism were the primary reasons for canceling the collaborative project. Despite significant investments in transportation and lean, J Molley expressed frustration over Emtee’s behavior during their studio sessions.
“He passed out on the couch, and couldn’t even put his shoe on. I had three sessions with Emtee last week, and he couldn’t rap a single bar. I would leave him in the studio to do his thing, come back, and find he had only managed four bars in two hours, with two lines rhyming with each other,” J Molley shared.
Taking to Instagram on last Tuesday, J Molley announced the release of his final body of work, titled “Head Hunter.” In his heartfelt post, he expressed his intentions to step away from the music scene, emphasizing that he has other sources of income and that music was merely a hobby for him.
“Head Hunter Tape Out Now (Link In My Bio). This is the last body of work I’m giving y’all since I’ve decided to quit. Enjoy, share, and save the link. Deactivating my account in 24 hours. Y’all can keep this fame shit; I don’t want it. I make money, music is a hobby to me,” he wrote.
