Wolverhampton-born recording and performing artist Kupid the King has released his brand-new solo single, “Superhero.” This homegrown project is a testament to Kupid’s roots and his dedication to his community, featuring production by Wolverhampton’s Joseph Nelson, recording at APS Studios, and artwork designed by JB Copestetic. The song was inspired by MANDEM MEETUP Wolves, making it a truly local and heartfelt endeavor.
Since his working retreat to Atlanta, Georgia in 2017, Kupid has had the opportunity to collaborate with artists and producers from across the United States and, in recent years, from various parts of Europe and Africa. However, “Superhero” marks a return to his roots, emphasizing the importance of local talent and inspiration.
Kupid the King, known locally as a SEMH well-being coach and mentor (MHFA), sets the tone for “Superhero” with empowering self-talk and affirmations. He blends various singing styles, rap, and chanting to represent the diverse voices and roles of a man. The second verse draws inspiration from the authentic words and experiences shared by members of MANDEM Meet-up Wolves, adding a layer of genuine community spirit to the track.
