Latti Patterson is not just the voice behind the music, but also the creative force in every part of the production. For this single, Latti took on the roles of producer, recording engineer, mixer, and masterer. Every sound and detail in the track was carefully crafted by Latti, who has a deep passion for the technical side of music making. Latti enjoys learning new production techniques and takes detailed notes to improve with every project. All of this knowledge and dedication were poured into creating “A Feeling That I’ll Never Forget.”
The inspiration for Latti’s music comes from a lifelong love of pop music, especially from the late 1990s and early 2000s. While there is no single artist who inspired this release, Latti’s general love for pop and the music they grew up with has a major influence on their sound. Latti’s goal is to make music that is relatable and connects with a wide audience.
The story behind “A Feeling That I’ll Never Forget” is just as unique as the song itself. Latti originally wrote the song in December 2023 during a time focused on self-love, forgiveness, and learning to find joy in being alone. At first, Latti did not think much of the song and recorded a rough demo on their iPhone’s voice memo app, then forgot about it. In March 2025, while clearing out iCloud storage, Latti rediscovered the demo. Upon listening again, Latti immediately felt inspired and began recording the song in full, bringing it to life with a fresh perspective.
This single is a celebration of feelings and the power of being sensitive. Latti shares, “I am someone who feels things deeply. I can be emotional at times, which comes from my empathetic nature. I am also an introvert. In the past, I’ve been ridiculed for being ‘too sensitive.’ I used to think this was a bad thing, but now I know it’s actually a superpower. I wrote this song especially for other sensitive souls like me who feel deeply and appreciate the beauty in even the simple things in life.”
The recording process for “A Feeling That I’ll Never Forget” was deeply personal. Latti recorded the song at home, in a spare bedroom that doubles as a music room and cat room. Before starting, Latti meditated for 30 minutes to clear the mind and set the mood for authentic creation. The process began with programming the drums, always keeping the melody in mind. Latti doubled the guitar track, panning one to the left and the other to the right, and for the first time, added electric guitar in the chorus and instrumental section. The song is a little over five minutes long. Although Latti considered making it shorter, the good vibe of the full version felt right, so it was left as is.
This single is an anthem for anyone who has ever struggled to express their emotions, but still wants to celebrate them. As Latti says, “This song is an anthem that celebrates our emotions even if it’s difficult to describe them. But at least we’ll never forget how we felt in the moment.”
