Recorded in her personal studio near Tampa, Lisa Jo wrote the lyrics, created the beat, and shaped the song entirely on her own before bringing in longtime friend J-Mac as the featured male vocalist. The production process was anything but rushed. Using FL Studio and BeatBuddy, Lisa Jo rebuilt the track repeatedly, completing the song several times, stepping away from it, and starting over whenever it didn’t fully meet her standards. Even after purchasing a beat from a fellow producer, she continued to remix and refine it until everything aligned. Only after sleeping on the final version and returning to it with fresh ears did she know the track was complete.
That dedication to perfection is a defining trait of Lisa Jo’s creative approach. In just three months, she has produced over 30 songs, earning growing recognition on curated playlists and establishing herself as an artist with remarkable versatility. Refusing to be boxed into a single genre, Lisa Jo creates from multiple emotional spaces, pain, anger, reflection, allowing her sound to shift naturally between moods and styles.
Her genre-defying mindset extends beyond “Lord of the Night.” In a bold creative experiment, Lisa Jo wrote a single set of lyrics and reimagined them across multiple genres: rap, pop, country, and rock, each version carrying a different elemental identity. The rock iteration even inspired a full band cover, further highlighting her adaptability as a songwriter and conceptual artist.
