Minx Introduces Her Emotional Debut Single “Baby Blue”

Minx makes a deeply personal entrance with her debut single “Baby Blue”. Built on vulnerability and emotional honesty, the track explores love, fear, and self-discovery, offering listeners an intimate look into a defining chapter of her life.

“Baby Blue” tells the story of Minx’s relationship with her now husband, capturing a time when their connection was still uncertain. During that period, they went back and forth emotionally, and Minx found herself struggling with fear and hesitation. She tried to keep herself closed off, unsure of fully opening her heart. Yet despite that resistance, she found herself drawn in. The song reflects that emotional tension, the push and pull between protection and surrender, and ultimately the acceptance of love.

The track was created in an unusually spontaneous way. Minx initially wrote and recorded “Baby Blue” in just ten minutes. At the time, she had challenged herself to make music every day to break through creative block. Out of all those daily recordings, this song stood out. She recognized something special in it and chose to refine and polish it. That spontaneous origin remains part of its emotional power, preserving the honesty of the moment in which it was born.

Minx began her musical journey completely on her own during the COVID pandemic. Working in isolation, she taught herself how to produce beats, record on her computer, and write melancholic lyrics that reflected her emotional state. This independent process allowed her to develop her voice without outside influence. She describes this work as deeply personal and fully hers, created from a place of necessity and emotional release. She believes strongly that its honesty will resonate with listeners who hear it.

Along the way, Minx connected with a group of inspiring female artists who have since become an important part of her creative journey. Some of these collaborators will be featured on her upcoming EP releases, marking a new chapter built on shared inspiration and artistic growth.

Her sound is influenced in part by Steve Lacy, whose early work, created on his phone using GarageBand, showed her that meaningful music could come from simple tools and honest expression. His neosoul style and independent spirit helped shape her approach, reinforcing her belief in following emotion rather than formula.

As she continues building momentum, Minx is also preparing to bring her music to live audiences. She is scheduled to perform at Quarters in Downtown Salt Lake City, with dates to be announced, and will also appear at a women’s showcase at the Blackbox Theatre in March.

With her debut single, Minx offers a raw and honest foundation for everything to come. A first step in a musical path shaped by independence, emotional truth, and the courage to be fully seen.
