Naira Marley talks about the different sounds on his album
You should expect different vibes. I’ve got MHD from France on there, I’ve got Chivv & Diquenza from Amsterdam… different sounds but you can still hear the afrobeats in it. It’s just the new sound really – this is the actual afrobeats, taking Africa to the world.
Even if you hear ‘Montego Bay,’ which is like a Caribbean-British vibe, you can still hear the afrobeats in it, you know? It’s just a mix of sounds and trying new things.
Naira Marley on difficulty choosing songs for his album
It was very difficult because I have so many songs you know. For me every song is a banger, it’s difficult and I don’t know what one to really put on there because you never know what song is going to blow until you drop it. It was really quite difficult but I and my team made a group effort, we planned it as a group – picking songs, taking out songs, putting in songs.
Naira Marley on his Busiswa collab
Me and Busiswa should give you guys an EP, that’s my evil twin apparently!
She was the perfect person for “Coming.” She was the perfect person doing noise, the ad-libs, her verse… She was the perfect person for “Coming.”
