Singer-songwriter Odelet and her production company, “Everlasting Tape”, are proud to announce the official release of “Raindance”. This marks the fourth (and fifth) studio release from Odelet and Everlasting Tape, showcasing modern, genre-defying music at its finest. Alongside the main album, Odelet will also release “Raindance In Dub”, a full album of remixes inspired by the 1970s “Dub” style, offering a fresh and experimental take on the original tracks. Prerelease singles for this ambitious project began dropping in May 2025.
In 2022, Odelet co-founded “Everlasting Tape”, a production company and film series, with her longtime collaborator Jack “riddim.” Together, they have created a distinctive sound and artistic vision. “Raindance” is technically the fourth album from Odelet and Jack as a duo. It was originally intended as the follow-up to their 2022 release, “The Angels Album.”However, a technical issue in the studio stopped the final recording of that project. This setback led Odelet to focus on creating her first digital album, “Pisces Pie.”
Riding the wave of success from “Pisces Pie,” Odelet and Everlasting Tape quickly returned to complete “Raindance.” To bring this vision to life, they partnered with legendary engineer Larry Crane, whose impressive resume includes founding and co-owning “Tape Op Magazine”, serving as the official archivist for the family of Elliott Smith, and owning Jackpot! Recording Studio in Portland, Oregon. Jackpot! became the mixing room for all upcoming Odelet releases.
Larry Crane’s involvement exceeded all expectations. He mixed “Raindance” entirely using analogue equipment, delivering a beautifully understated sound that perfectly complements Odelet’s style. Larry also played a key role in creating the long-planned “Dub” remix series, which revisits the album’s tracks with a 1970s-inspired dub production style.
Starting in April 2025 with “Angels (Revived)”, a dramatic reprise of “The Angels Album”, Odelet plans to release an astonishing six albums within a single year. This includes two more remix albums and a full-length instrumental record. This incredible output continues to explore a new genre Odelet has dubbed “Surrealist R&B”, blending soulful melodies with experimental sounds and dreamlike atmospheres.
Alongside the music releases, Odelet will present new instalments of her visual art series named after her production company, “Everlasting Tape”. This documentary-style series explores the art of film scoring by re-imagining the music behind iconic and overlooked archival footage. The first instalment of this series was selected for screening at more than fifty film festivals worldwide and won numerous awards, highlighting Odelet’s talents beyond music.
