International reggae artist Queen Omega joins forces with producer Nathan Sabanayagam and the Naya Rockers to release their stirring new single “Words of Wisdom”, out now via Floki Studios and Naya Records. This spiritually rooted track blends Rastafarian values with Gospel influence, offering a heartfelt call for mindful speech, inner strength, and collective upliftment.
“Words of Wisdom” is a standout from the forthcoming Higher Education album, a global reggae project celebrating cross-cultural collaboration. The riddim was recorded in November 2022 at Floki Studios in Haganesvik, Iceland, with contributions from reggae veterans Nathan Sabanayagam (drums), Nate Edgar (bass), Andy Bassford (guitar), and Cameron Greenlee (organ). Queen Omega’s vocals were later recorded in early 2023 at Acoustic Live Studios in Trinidad, with final touches mixed at the legendary Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, Jamaica.
“Working with Queen Omega is always a refreshing experience,” says producer Nathan Sabanayagam. “In a male-dominated music landscape, her sensitive yet powerful voice brings much-needed balance. Her message continues the tradition of conscious reggae storytelling that defines Naya Records.”
Lyrically, Queen Omega delivers affirmations that urge listeners to speak life into the world. The message is clear: words have power — they can manifest abundance or bring about destruction.
Adding further depth to the track are legendary reggae musicians Earl “Chinna” Smith on guitar and Stephen Stewart on organ, piano, and clavinet. “These are the masters,” adds Sabanayagam. “They’ve been mentors throughout my journey. This track is as much a tribute to them as it is a showcase of Queen Omega’s brilliance.”
More than a single, “Words of Wisdom” is part of a broader cultural project. Each riddim on the Higher Education album was crafted with intention and sent to artists whose voices aligned with the message, creating a body of work that bridges continents and generations.
