Qymira is back with a brand new single, ‘Melodrama.’ Fresh from a successful UK-wide tour with Boyzlife, Qymira delivers a track that is impossible to ignore; dark, hypnotic, and bursting with raw energy. Alongside the single, fans can experience a visually stunning, high-drama music video that captures Qymira’s unique presence like never before.
‘Melodrama’ is built on a foundation of hard-hitting beats, sharp rapped verses, and sweeping orchestral strings. The song’s soundscape is fierce and cinematic, with vinyl scratches that spark through the mix and strings that rise and crash like storm waves. Qymira’s vocals move effortlessly between breathless, ethereal melodies and bold, rapid-fire delivery, showing both vulnerability and strength. At its core, ‘Melodrama’ tells a story of illusion, power, and manipulation, a wild ride through control, deception, and the overwhelming pull of someone else’s drama.
The music video for ‘Melodrama’ is a true visual feast. Qymira appears in stunning gowns, commanding the screen with elegance and confidence as she sings directly to the camera. The video balances moments of intimacy and spectacle, showing Qymira both vulnerable and powerful. One standout scene features her conducting the Qymira Symphony Orchestra, leading them with the intensity of someone who knows how to orchestrate every moment.
Qymira’s creative path is as rich and varied as her music. Born in Hong Kong and raised in San Francisco, she received a British education and was classically trained in piano, violin, and singing from a young age. Her love for orchestral music grew when she became the first violinist in the UK National String Academy as a teenager. Qymira’s name is inspired by the mythical creature Chimera, reflecting her multi-faceted nature as a first-of-its-kind 3D character that combines fantasy and reality through multimedia projects worldwide.
Qymira’s career took off with her debut single ‘Satisfied’, remixed by EEDB, which soared to No. 1 on the UK Music Week Breakers Chart. She has since toured nationally across the UK, performing for tens of thousands of fans. Her follow-up single, ‘Boom Bang Bang’, and its UK tour received major TV coverage in the UK and Europe. Qymira has also conducted members of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, and Manila Philharmonic Orchestra for live recordings of her orchestral scores. Her original works are now performed by symphony and philharmonic orchestras worldwide.
Her single ‘Wait For No One’ climbed to No. 10 on the UK Dance Chart and reached No. 78 on the German Pop 200 Chart. Last autumn, ‘Give It To Me’—written by Teeroy Morris and featuring Filipino singer Kris Lawrence and Brazilian rapper Duendy Primeiro hit No. 5 on the UK Dance Chart. This success led to an exciting collaboration with Doc B and Brazilian artists. All three singles released on the radio, ‘Perdão’ and ‘Sun & Sea’ (both featuring Duendy Primeiro) and ‘Vem Comigo’ (featuring Kaos), reached No. 1 on the Radio Chart in Bahia, Brazil. Earlier this year, Qymira performed at the world-famous Salvador Carnival with Brazilian artist Edu Casanova.
Beyond her music, Qymira is dedicated to giving back through her work with the One Gaia Foundation, an organisation she founded to support children in need. One Gaia empowers young people by providing them with opportunities to explore and express their talents in music, the arts, and sports, guided by top professionals. The foundation is active in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Jamaica, and Brazil, helping children build brighter futures.
