Singer-songwriter Sarah Lake is back with “Give Me Groove,” a vibrant Afro house anthem radiating rhythm, positivity, and irresistible dance energy. Known for her soulful storytelling and genre-crossing versatility, Sarah takes a bold step into the Afro-inspired soundscape, delivering a track that celebrates joy, freedom, and movement.
Born in Canada and raised in North Carolina, Sarah first gained national recognition as a finalist on American Idol (performing under her maiden name, Sarah Mather). Following her time on the show, she moved to New York City, where she met her Grammy-nominated producer husband, Ernie Lake. Together, they’ve built an impressive career blending pop, folk, and electronic elements with heartfelt songwriting.
After taking a brief break from music to focus on family, Sarah returned in 2016 with her acclaimed EP The Ride. The title track’s video topped the CMT Artist Discovery Program for four weeks, while her song “Soldier On” garnered over one million YouTube views. Since relocating to Nashville in 2017, Sarah has released a string of singles featured on Tidal, Apple Music, and Spotify playlists, while writing songs for artists such as Reba McEntire and The Voice finalist Moriah Formica.
With “Give Me Groove,” Sarah Lake channels her signature authenticity through an Afro house lens, blending uplifting percussion, radiant melodies, and her dynamic vocals to create a feel-good experience that moves both body and soul.
