Satellite Train – Melbourne’s Indie Rock Collective Unveils Powerful New Single “Paralyzed”

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Satellite Train is making waves in the music world with their latest single, “Paralyzed.” Known for their raw, emotional sound and impressive roster of musicians, Satellite Train brings together members and collaborators from legendary acts such as Icehouse, AC/DC, James Reyne, Paul Kelly, and The Black Sorrows. The band also features talented American contributors, including Michael Paytner, Susan Turner, Randy Jacobs, Shane O’Mara, Jamie Muhoberac, John McAll, Pasquale Monea, John Watson, and Chris Chaney.

Satellite Train stands out for its approach to music making. Rather than aiming for polished perfection, the band focuses on creating songs quickly to capture honest, real moments. This immediate and immersive style has become the signature sound of Satellite Train, connecting deeply with listeners who crave authenticity in music.

The year 2024 was a milestone for the band, with two major indie hits: “Superstar” and “Wings.” Both singles charted on the DRT Independent Charts, with “Wings” becoming a breakout success. “Wings” reached #11 on the DRT Independent Charts and is now just weeks away from spending a full year on the chart, a rare achievement for a truly independent release. The song reached #46 on the DRT Rock Chart, further proving the band’s growing influence in the music world.

Adding to the band’s momentum, Michael Paytner, one of Satellite Train’s key members, received the Judith Johnson Award at the Sydney Theatre Awards for Best Performance in a Leading Role in a Musical for his work in “Jesus Christ Superstar.” This honour highlights the artistic range and diversity within the band, showing that Satellite Train’s members are not only talented musicians but also outstanding performers in other creative fields.

With the release of “Paralyzed,” Satellite Train begins an exciting new chapter. “Paralyzed” is an emotionally charged alternative pop/rock track that explores themes of isolation and the search for connection. The song features tribal drums and atmospheric textures, building from introspective verses to a powerful chorus. It perfectly captures the struggle of feeling unheard and unseen, resonating with anyone who has ever felt alone in a crowd.

Satellite Train is quietly preparing to unveil something extraordinary. Later this year, the band will release two new albums that promise to introduce a concept unlike anything currently in the music space. These upcoming albums are described as a bold experiment in sound, structure, and the overall listening experience. Satellite Train hopes this innovative approach will inspire a new model for storytelling through music, offering fans something truly unique and memorable.
