JONASKAY, the French-Congolese-Angolan artist lighting up the Afropop and Afrofusion space, unveils a new chapter with his debut EP PHENIX, a bold and rhythmic project showcasing his trilingual talent in Portuguese, Lingala, and French.
Raised in Angola and born in Congo, JONASKAY has been living in France since 2016, where he’s developed a sound that’s as vibrant as his background. His music fuses urban afrobeat, rap, kuduro, and heartfelt melodies, capturing both his fire for dance floors and his introspective spirit. Whether rapping or singing, JONASKAY delivers energy and emotion in equal measure.
The breakout single from PHENIX highlights his signature style: a blend of fantasy and sincerity, groove and soul, designed both to move bodies and stir hearts. Behind the scenes, he’s supported by LE PASSE MURAILLE (production) and EYAYA (publishing), both based in northern France.
Currently based in Amiens, JONASKAY launched a national tour across France in April 2025, performing concerts where proceeds are donated to solidarity associations. In a major move, he’ll also open for international dancehall star Blaiz Fayah in October 2025 near Lille, further cementing his presence in the European music circuit.
A self-defined “hybrid artist,” JONASKAY stands out for his versatility, his deep cultural roots, and his joyful defiance of genre boundaries. From the streets of Luanda, discovering kuduro to the stages of France, his music is a celebration of uniqueness, unity, and rhythm.
PHENIX is out now on all platforms.
