Swedish singer-songwriter and guitarist Jari Salmikivi has released his new single, “Chasing Stars,” a vibrant country-infused track born from a unique cross-continental collaboration. Released on November 28, 2025, the song blends Salmikivi’s Nordic roots with classic American country and blues-rock influences, showcasing his deft songwriting and guitar work.
Salmikivi wrote “Chasing Stars” and performed all guitar parts, drawing inspiration from artists like Keith Urban and guitar legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughn. The song’s driving main riff nods to Vaughn’s “Scuttle Buttin’,” while Salmikivi’s vocal delivery channels the melodic warmth of modern country. The track was brought to life through remote collaboration with U.S.-based musicians John Thomasson on bass and Caleb Gilbreath on drums, who also handled mixing and mastering.
“Working with John and Caleb across the Atlantic was an incredible experience,” says Salmikivi. “Even though we were thousands of miles apart, we created something that feels cohesive and alive. ‘Chasing Stars’ is about that drive to reach for something more, whether it’s a dream, a sound, or a connection that crosses borders.”
The single represents a seamless fusion of musical worlds, Scandinavian melodic sensibility meets American country-rock energy, and stands as a testament to what can be achieved through passion and digital collaboration.
