Swedish indie band Favourite Squeeze makes their debut with the poignant single “The Things We Do for Life,” a track that explores the existential themes of life and death, loss, and hope—core subjects at the heart of the band’s musical expression.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, and Annie Lennox, Favourite Squeeze crafts a sonic landscape where melancholy meets strength. The debut single tells a moving story about the lengths we go for our loved ones, our children, and ourselves, wrapped in melodies that comfort while prompting reflection.

We want to write music that doesn’t just entertain, but makes people pause and reflect on life. When we played the song for friends, it triggered strong emotions in people who have experienced difficult pregnancies, the loss of loved ones, or seen friends struggle. That is exactly the kind of reaction we hope for,” the duo explains.

Favourite Squeeze consists of two musicians who maintain a low visual profile, allowing the music to take center stage. Their name embodies both warmth and pain—a “favourite squeeze” can be the one you cherish most, but also a reminder that life sometimes squeezes us hard.
