Brighton-based reggae fusion collective The FreeDub Press has returned with “The Bigger Picture,” the first single from their highly anticipated new album, Calling You Out. Released alongside a vibrant music video filmed on the streets of their hometown, the track is an upbeat, positive anthem that blends punchy beats with an urgent social message.
“The Bigger Picture was the first song we wrote together after a nearly two-year hiatus during lockdown,” the band shared. “Our debut album Rhythm in Protest dropped in June 2020, but the tour was cancelled. We were eager to get back into the studio and create music that reflects the current landscape. This track is about the power of music to carry messages and the unity of people standing together for change.”
Recorded by the band and mixed by Luke Burgoyne, “The Bigger Picture” embodies The FreeDub Press’ signature style: conscious lyrics layered over grooving dub rhythms, upbeat reggae energy, and skanking ska vibes. The accompanying music video showcases festival footage and the band’s favorite Brighton spots, capturing the spirit of the city that fuels their sound.
