Seattle Saxophonist Peter Daniel Releases Debut Album “Quartets”

Music Factory Records is proud to announce the release of “Quartets,” the highly anticipated debut solo album from Seattle-based saxophonist and composer Peter Daniel. After years as a standout sideman for major international acts including Lauryn Hill & the Fugees, Father John Misty, and ODESZA, Daniel takes centre stage with this ten-track collection that serves as both a showcase of musical versatility and a love letter to the vibrant jazz and groove scene of the Pacific Northwest.

Peter Daniel has built an impressive reputation as a sought-after sideman, contributing his saxophone skills to acclaimed groups including The True Loves and The Polyrhythmics. His work has taken him around the world, performing with some of the biggest names in music. Now, with “Quartets,” Daniel delivers his voice, clear, confident, and brimming with energy.

“Quartets” blends the raw power of funk, the sophistication of jazz, and the warmth of soul into a deeply personal, highly listenable journey. The album’s title reflects its unique structure: a series of quartets featuring different rhythm sections from the Pacific Northwest supporting Daniel’s original compositions.

From the upbeat optimism of “Take A Little Chance” to the moody introspection of “Desperate Waltz” and the cinematic groove of “Come Back Together” (plus its haunting reprise), “Quartets” explores wide emotional ground while staying firmly rooted in groove. Tracks like “Pedro Azul” and “Cliff’s Notes vol 3” highlight Daniel’s exceptional ability for melodic storytelling and his deep rhythmic pocket.

The album features a powerful new single, “Come Back Together,” a gospel-tinged, backbeat-driven anthem that blends spiritual uplift with deep-pocket groove, showcasing Daniel’s range as both a composer and performer.

The album is as much about collaboration as it is about individuality. It’s a sonic, community-focused endeavour built on years of relationships and shared stages. As Daniel explains:

“Each track came to life with a different group of musicians I’ve known and played with for years. The goal was to capture the energy of community, and to let each quartet bring something unique to the table.”

The release is supported by Music Factory Records, with worldwide distribution planned. The cover art was designed by Daniel himself, highlighting the project’s DIY and artist-forward spirit. “Quartets” is being released as a vinyl LP and is already garnering attention from jazz heads, funk lovers, and crate diggers alike.

“Quartets” is available for pre-order now on vinyl at musicfactoryrecords.com. The album will be distributed worldwide through Music Factory Records, making it accessible to fans of jazz, funk, and soul music everywhere.
