Ghanaian Afro-fusion artist Kwame Tyrann (born Joshua Selasie Kwame Mensah) has released his deeply personal new single “Nobody”, a poignant musical reflection composed on the final day of 2024. The track captures the artist’s emotional journey through a year of transformation, celebrating the one constant love that sustained him.
Written in a moment of profound year-end reflection, “Nobody” embodies Tyrann’s artistic philosophy: “My music should define what I succinctly feel. Let’s talk about love when we have to, and sing about things that take our breath even a mile away.” The single offers the first glimpse into his forthcoming debut project “DAYSTAR”, named after his own affectionate moniker.
Inspired by African greats like Nasty C, Black Sherif, and Kelvynboy, Tyrann crafts a sound that honors Ghanaian musical traditions while pushing creative boundaries. Joshua Selasie Kwame Mensah is a Ghanaian Afro fusion artist based in Accra. Nurtured in the suburbs of Nima & Achimota, he budded up as a creative, a fanatic of dance and a lover of music. Two years after a global turbulence, he finds himself being a part of what will enthral him and change the course of his life forever. Through experiences and different facets across his life, he is able to draw inspiration and write music to meet what resonates with his current mood or lifestyle. “I feel like my music should define what I succinctly feel, it shouldn’t say otherwise.
