Indie pop artist Aleksandra Picariello, also known as Allie, proudly announces the release of her new single “Chair,” a powerful and emotionally charged introduction to her solo artistry. Known for her cinematic, genre-bending sound, Allie combines the raw intensity of rock with lush orchestral textures to create a style all her own. Her unique style has been described as what you might get if David Bowie had tea with Lady Gaga, while Twenty One Pilots played Queen covers in a room filled with cellos, French horns, and leftover scores by Hans Zimmer. Allie creates a world of sound that is both energetic and deeply emotional.
“Chair” showcases Allie’s distinct vocal tone; it’s steady, expressive, and deeply connected to the emotional current of the track. The production glides seamlessly between energetic rhythms and reflective passages, highlighting her talent for dynamic arrangement and storytelling. Her classical background as a cellist, paired with her love of bold modern sounds, creates a listening journey that is at once orchestral, raw, and refreshingly personal.
Allie Picariello brings impressive experience and education to her solo work, having graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Scoring. Her musical influences include both classical and modern artists, such as legendary film composers Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, and John Williams, as well as popular bands like The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Twenty One Pilots. Allie’s journey in music began at a young age; she started playing cello when she was nine years old and attended Berklee College of Music, where she majored in film scoring because of her love for movies and movie music. Her classical training on the cello forms the foundation for the rich string arrangements that are now a signature part of her solo work.
Allie’s path to this point has not been easy. She has openly shared her struggles with mental health issues and substance abuse, which created many setbacks in her career and life. These personal battles, while difficult, became the driving force behind her artistic breakthrough. A turning point came in 2020, when Allie was hospitalised, a life-changing event that marked the start of her healing journey and inspired her to begin writing songs and pursuing a solo career. From that moment, she was able to admit she needed help and has been on a healing journey ever since.
This period of recovery and self-discovery has become the heart of Allie’s songwriting. Her music now serves as a way to share her personal story of struggle, healing, and hope. She draws on her experiences with mental health challenges and recovery, making her songs deeply personal but also relatable to many others. Allie’s upcoming releases will take listeners on an emotional journey through her experiences, with her latest song marking the beginning of many that will tell her story. Her music promises to be a powerful narrative about overcoming adversity and finding strength through vulnerability.
Allie Picariello’s story is a testament to the power of creative expression in the healing process and the importance of seeking help for mental health challenges. Through her music, she hopes to connect with others who may be facing similar struggles and to show that recovery and artistic fulfilment are possible.
