Genre-blending collective Zircon Skyeband is back with an exciting new release: a double single featuring “Must Be Feeling In Love” and “Don’t Stand So Close to Me.” With a rich history behind the first track and a fresh, dynamic sound throughout, this release highlights the band’s signature blend of rock, folk, and punk influences, delivering an experience that’s both nostalgic and modern.
The inspiration for “Must Be Feeling In Love” dates back to 1976, when John A. Brokaw found himself drawn to a cocktail waitress at the Sahara-Tahoe bar. Two years later, the song became the very first track he recorded on his Tascam 1/2″ tape machine, marking the beginning of his journey as a songwriter and producer.
Fast forward to today, Zircon Skyeband brings this cherished composition to life with Mia Bortolussi and Steph Johnson’s enchanting vocals, beautifully enhancing the song’s lyrical love story. The strong production work and seamless instrumentation create a warm, intimate atmosphere, allowing listeners to immerse themselves in the song’s romantic essence. From the acoustic strums to the soaring choruses, every element is crafted to evoke the thrill of falling in love.
Alongside “Must Be Feeling In Love”, the band delivers “Don’t Stand So Close to Me”, featuring standout performances from Hermes Montenegro and Steph Johnson. The track also boasts an impressive saxophone solo by Heath Jones, adding a bold, expressive layer to its vibrant energy.
Zircon Skyeband continues to grow its international audience, uniting listeners through music that inspires, uplifts, and connects. Their latest release is a testament to their ability to blend timeless songwriting with fresh, modern influences, making this double single an essential listen for fans of rock, folk, and Americana.
