Alternative HipHop artist, Inart, set to release new EP titled “MERAKI” 

MERAKI is Inart’s experience of life – After the release of the vulnerable but soothing lead single, ‘falling’, off his debut project, Inart returns with MERAKI, a five-track offering into his experience of life as a 23-year-old.

Slated for release on the 16th of June 2021, the alternative rap project portrays inart’s genre-defying credentials, which sees him swing between flows and melodies on r&b, afro swing & hip hop productions. He shares so much of himself on the project discussing his long absence from home chasing his passion independently in a big city, societal issues like police brutality and the inhumane nature of the Nigerian government and his vulnerable outlook on love, amongst other things.

MERAKI is an EP by Alternative hip-hop artist Inart entirely produced and engineered by Daniel Blis.

Inart is a genre-defying, artist-advocating musician based in Lagos, Nigeria; the major hub of African creativity and innovation. Popularly addressed as “energy Baby“, an alias that perfectly characterises his natural disposition especially in regards to his creative endeavors and his overall outlook on life.

Born Oghenetega Ovbagbedia, He discovered his passion for music earlier on in high school amongst peers who doubted his innate talent and ability to make timeless and engaging musical compositions. From which came the adoption of his name “INART” which is an acronym for “I‘M NOT A RAPPER THOUGH ”.

One can best describe the style of music INART makes as Alternative Rap, a relaxed but reflective blend of Pop, R&B, Afro swing, and Hip hop with songwriting & performance that mirrors his disposition, deepest emotions, and environment; being heavily inspired by groundbreaking artists like Saint JHN, Burna boy & J Cole.

He is widely recognized for his artistry over the years with works like “PROBLEM”, a political and socially conscious song dropped in 2019 discussing the deteriorating state of things in the country, a song which resonated strongly with lots of Nigerians;

“NO DRAMA”, a chill pop anthem of heavy relaxing nature which he dropped in 2020, and “PINK BLUE” a mixtape dropped on new years eve as a measure of appreciation and introduction of his supporters into the new world he is about to sojourn with his debut EP “MERAKI”

“ FALLING ” is his most recent release, the lead single from “MERAKI ”. Officially released on the 11th of March 2021, it has been the most successful release of his career so far, especially in regards to the awareness the record is bringing to him, skyrocketing monthly listeners on digital streaming platforms, support from tastemakers, and overall buzz and engagements on social media platforms, which is a strong signifier for what MERAKI, his debut EP holds.
