Apple Music today announced Ghanaian Afrobeats artist Mellissa as the latest cover star for the Africa Rising playlist, spotlighting one of the continent’s most intriguing emerging voices at a pivotal moment in her career.
Hailing from Lapaz, Accra, Mellissa has steadily carved out a distinct space within the Afrobeats landscape, blending vulnerability with bold femininity through her signature Afro-R&B fusion. With a growing reputation for crafting melodic, emotionally resonant records, she first captured attention with viral moments from her breakout release “Goodboy (Kweku)”, establishing herself as an artist capable of connecting deeply with audiences across cultures.
She now steps into a defining new chapter with the release of her latest project, Diamond Baby, a confident body of work that reflects her evolution as both an artist and storyteller.
