Babes Wodumo’s debut album “Gqom Queen” certified multi-platinum

South African gqom artist and choreographer, Babes Wodumo’s album “Gqom Queen” has gone multi platinum 5 years after it’s release. Babes Wodumo made the announcement via her Instagram page where she also thanked her fans for their support.

The Artist recently made her come back on social media after she had been off for almost a year. The “Gqom Queen” has been going through some bad times especially with her personal life.

The Elamonti hitmaker penned down a touching message on Instagram, where she thanked her fans for their support and also advised her fans, she wrote

“I was pretty wild in my younger days and you don’t have to do what I did. You don’t have to make the mistakes I made. The future’s in your hands now. And the world really is yours. It’s been really hectic lately and I never got a chance to officially thank you’ll formally. Dreams delayed are never Dreams denied. Fast forward 5 years later”


The Gqom Queen as she is widely known, recently released her new Album Indandokazi, this album follows her debut project Gqom Queen, Vol 1 which features the hit tracks Wololo, Umgan Wami and Mercedes.

Babes Wodumo instantly became a household name after the release of “wololo” featuring Mampintsha, “wololo” was off her first album.

Babes Wodumo has been nominated for several awards, including some South African Music Awards (Samas), the MTV Africa Music Awards, the prestigious BET Awards and the South African Gqom Awards in 2019.
