Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy has got his single “Ye” certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
This achievement was disclosed on Instagram by his mother and manager, Bose Ogu.
The self-acclaimed Africa Giant took to his Twitter handle to express his regards. He tweeted a picture of the Gold certification and captioned it “Still Striving”

“Ye” was released on August 6, 2018, by a Nigerian producer named Phantom.
The song is the sixth single on his third studio album “Outside.”
“Ye” earned over 11 million streams in seven months across major U.S. streaming platforms after its release and it’s one of the highest streamed songs on YouTube.
The list includes “If”, and “Fall”, by Davido as well as ‘” Come Closer” by Wizkid have all previously achieved the massive feat.
A Gold record means, the song or album sold 500,000 units (records, tapes, or compact discs).
