Audiomack has promoted Charlotte Bwana as director of brand and media partnerships for its operations in Africa.
Bwana joined Audiomack as the company’s ambassador in 2019. During her time working for the platform, the executive has successfully facilitated partnerships with various African brands including radio broadcasters and local festivals such as Afrochella, Y FM Ghana, Beat FM Lagos, Diageo, Sportscene South Africa, among others.
Bwana was instrumental in securing the platform’s deal with MTN Nigeria, which saw the music streaming service’s catalogue and content made available to its users. Audiomack counts more than 82 million users. Another milestone achieved by the executive was the introduction of Swahili Radio podcast, which shines the light on musicians from East Africa.
Audiomack vice-president of marketing and brand strategy Jason Johnson said: “Charlotte Bwana has been the driving force behind several major partnerships and feats as a company and has been instrumental to the growth of Audiomack in Africa.
Bwana also speared a philanthropic initiative in 2021 where Audiomack donated $5 000 worth of tablets and headsets to support the Slum2School initiative in Africa. These funds went towards supporting 38 learners with tablets in the virtual learning programme.
