Dara Blaxx Turns Up the Energy With New Single “Honey”

Southampton-based singer and songwriter Dara Blaxx is back with “Honey,” a fun and catchy new single that brings together Afrobeats and R&B. Released on 7 August 2026, the track is playful, confident and full of energy, capturing the excitement and attraction that comes with chemistry between two people.

Produced by Beezyx, “Honey” has a groove that makes it easy to move to, while Dara’s rich vocals and playful delivery give the song its personality. It is a lighter side of her songwriting, with a strong sense of confidence running through the track. As Dara puts it, “It’s a sexy song for sexy people with great energy.”

The single also arrives during an active period for Dara, who has spent much more time performing live this year. She has appeared at the ABP Southampton Marathon, Beggar’s Fair Romsey, supported by Voice FM, and Kushtii Vol. 1, an R&B showcase featuring talent from across the South Coast. She continues to perform around the Hampshire region, with more shows scheduled for September.

Dara’s sound comes from a varied musical background. She grew up listening to gospel at home, grime on the playground, Afrobeats through hall speakers and neo-soul through her headphones. Sade, Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone are among the artists who influenced her, while singing in church as a teenager helped her develop her voice.

With “Honey,” Dara is continuing to grow her sound while keeping the enjoyment and honesty that have always been important to her music. A music video accompanies the single, with two more releases planned for later this year.
