Today, 5x Grammy nominated Afrobeats force Davido announced the release of his highly anticipated sixth studio album ORIADÉ, arriving July 31. Alongside the announcement, Davido unveiled the album’s official trailer, offering a first glimpse into the world defining his most intentional and expansive body of work to date.
Derived from the Yoruba words Ori (head, destiny) and Adé (crown), ORIADÉ embodies the journey toward purpose, fulfillment, and stepping into the life that was meant to be. Inspired by the people, places, and experiences that shaped him, Davido announces his new project as he celebrates 15 years in music — a milestone that finds one of the world’s most influential artists reflecting on family, brotherhood, gratitude, and the enduring spirit of Nigerian excellence.
In a statement about the project, Davido shared: “ORIADÉ is about purpose. It’s about understanding that before the world recognises you, before the accolades, before the success, there’s a version of you that already knows who you’re meant to become. Over the last fifteen years I’ve experienced some of the highest highs and some of the toughest moments of my life, but every step has strengthened my faith in where God is taking me. ORIADÉ means ‘the crown follows destiny.’
This project is about embracing who you are, where you come from and what you’re called to do. It’s the most honest I’ve ever been, and I can’t wait for the world to experience it.”
The announcement follows the release of lead single “I Know Who I Be,” a triumphant affirmation of self-belief that serves as the first chapter of ORIADÉ. Together, the single and album mark a defining new era for Davido. “I Know Who I Be” embodies the certainty that comes with embracing your identity, while ORIADÉ reflects on the path that makes that certainty possible — a journey shaped by destiny, guided by purpose, and crowned through perseverance.
With a new album on the horizon, Davido continues on one of the most remarkable careers in global music. After the release of his acclaimed 2025 album 5IVE, a sold-out 42-date 5ive Alive Tour spanning twelve countries across four continents, a historic Coachella debut, and a Grammy nomination for the hit single “With You” featuring Omah Lay, Davido now enters his next chapter with renewed ambition and a deeper sense of purpose. Most recently, he appeared on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack album with the single “No Place Like Home” alongside Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado, before delivering a landmark performance at the tournament’s countdown concert in Los Angeles.
As the most followed Afrobeats artist in the world with more than 30 million followers, Davido has spent 15 years helping transform African music into a global cultural force. With ORIADÉ, he promises one of the most defining statements of his career.
