In 2019, Hbee, a fast rising singer and songwriter from Lagos, emerged into the music scene with the release of his single Ejo, a bright Afro-pop based track. After the release of his Debut EP, Wickedest Vibe in 2019, his career took an illustrious turn towards setting him up to have a place amongst new unique and phenomenal artiste to watch out for from the African content.
He is rapidly captivating the attention of listeners across Nigeria and Africa and creating a sustainable fanbase.
Having learned from the trajectory and complications within the African music scene, Hbee embraces the art of being a DIY artiste, an attribute that is very much evident in his songwriting and video co-directions.
Hbee on March 19th, premiered the visuals for “special” to pave way for his sophomore project which is scheduled to be released mid-2021. “Special” is a vintage highlife themed ode to a lover.
“It’s just about learning, growing and putting big plans for moving music into action. I just want to be the best version of me possible. Just being my best self so I can inspire other people to be their best selves and help people in any way and with anything I do, inspire people, motivate people. That’s the goal” says Hbee as he reflects on his journey so far in retrospect to the next present steps to take in his now expanding career.
Hbee is influenced by Iconic African acts. He says his utmost respect and admiration goes to Wizkid, Sean tizzle, Burna Boy, Davido, Wande Coal, and Runtown who he describes as someone who blends together, with class, the genres of Afrobeat & Afropop.Hbee aims to hit the spotlight in the ever-burgeoning Afrobeats scene and take the world by surprise.
