Headmaster, a London-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, completes his four-part “Seasons” tetralogy with the release of “Seasons Vol. 4, Spring.” The final chapter centers on renewal, growth, and the sense of starting again. It brings the wider project to a close with a tone shaped by hope and reflection, drawing inspiration in part from his family’s connection to anime and its storytelling approach.
The “Seasons” tetralogy has been structured with precision from the beginning. Each album was released on the first day of its respective season, beginning with Summer on June 1st, followed by Autumn on September 1st, Winter on December 1st, and now Spring. This format allows the project to mirror the natural cycle it explores, with each release representing a different stage of emotional and personal change.
Across all four albums, Headmaster focuses on the idea of life as a continuous cycle. The music moves through shifts in mood, energy, and perspective, with each part standing on its own while still contributing to a larger narrative. “Seasons Vol. 4, Spring” brings these ideas together, emphasising restoration and forward movement after the quieter, more introspective tone of Winter.

Originally from North Wales and now based in London, Headmaster’s sound reflects a blend of influences shaped over time. His journey in music began decades earlier, including his move to London in the 1990s with the band Firetown, where many of the tracks that now appear in the tetralogy were first performed. That history adds a sense of continuity to the project, with older material finding a new context within this structured release.
Alongside his work as an artist, Headmaster serves as CEO and Executive Headteacher of the Hertswood Academy Trust. This role is directly connected to the project, with the Hertswood Academy shield featured on the artwork of the first album. His music also supports charitable efforts, raising funds for organisations focused on mental and physical health, including Herts Mind Network and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.
With “Seasons Vol. 4, Spring,” the tetralogy reaches its final point while reinforcing the central idea behind the project. The closing release reflects on change, continuity, and the process of renewal, bringing the full cycle into focus through both its timing and its themes.
