Jamzzzo Brings UK and Ugandan Influences Together on “Holding”

UK-based Ugandan artist Jamzzzo returns with “Holding,” a melodic Afro-R&B and Afropop record centred on the feeling of unexpectedly falling deeply for someone. Moving seamlessly between English and Luganda, the track combines a smooth, romantic sound with Jamzzzo’s growing identity as an artist shaped by both the UK and East Africa.

“Holding” reflects Jamzzzo’s approach to creating music that can connect with different audiences while remaining firmly rooted in his Ugandan heritage. Built around melody-led songwriting and bilingual expression, the track explores love, connection and the emotional vulnerability that comes with finding yourself unexpectedly drawn to someone.

The release continues a developing catalogue that blends Afro-R&B, Afropop, Afrosoul and contemporary African pop. By bringing together influences from the diaspora and East Africa, Jamzzzo is steadily developing a sound that reflects his journey between cultures while creating music with a wider international appeal.

“Holding” follows the momentum of Jamzzzo’s previous release “Back Home,” featuring Expect XHAVI, which reached #11 on Spotify’s Made in Uganda playlist and received radio support in Uganda from stations including Sanyu FM, NRG Radio and Galaxy FM. That response has helped establish Jamzzzo as an emerging diaspora artist building a connection between the UK and Ugandan music scenes.

With “Holding,” Jamzzzo continues to expand his presence across streaming, radio, visual content and collaborations, while developing a recognisable musical identity rooted in love, home, identity and connection.
