LoDeck & The Golden Godz Deliver a Hip-Hop Statement “Dinner At Dorsia”

LoDeck returns with “Dinner At Dorsia”, a new collaborative album with The Golden Godz that draws inspiration from “American Psycho”. Much like the novel’s iconic setting, the album draws on the idea of exclusivity and appearances, using that symbolism to examine authenticity in a music landscape where originality can often feel increasingly difficult to find.

Created in collaboration with California production collective The Golden Godz, the project pairs LoDeck’s sharp lyricism with production from Sol626, who crafted the album’s entire musical foundation. Together, they deliver a record that moves comfortably between futuristic soundscapes and classic hip-hop sensibilities, allowing each track to explore different ideas while remaining connected through a cohesive sonic identity.

The inspiration behind the album grew from LoDeck’s frustration with the growing sameness of contemporary music. Rather than following prevailing trends, “Dinner At Dorsia” was built around the idea of creating something with its own voice. The title itself reflects that vision, referencing an unattainable status symbol while suggesting that some of the most compelling stories are often hidden beneath the surface.

That independent spirit extends to the album’s impressive lineup of collaborators. Alongside LoDeck are appearances from underground hip-hop veterans including Smoothe Da Hustler, Bigg Jus, YESH, JAKPROGRESSO, Boxguts, and Skech185. Each artist adds a distinct perspective without distracting from the project’s central direction, creating a record that feels collaborative rather than crowded.

The album also represents the coming together of creative talent across multiple cities. Vocals were recorded at Junxion Studios in Las Vegas, production was developed in Riverside, California, and the final mixing and mastering took place in Los Angeles. DJ Obi played a key role in shaping the finished sound, contributing not only mixing and mastering but also DJ cuts and live bass, helping bring added depth and energy to the production.

For longtime listeners, “Dinner At Dorsia” marks another significant chapter in LoDeck’s career, which stretches back to the late 1990s and includes the critically acclaimed “Postcards from the Third Rock”. While the new album continues his commitment to thoughtful lyricism, it also reflects a renewed creative partnership with The Golden Godz, resulting in a project that balances lyrical substance, imaginative production, and a clear artistic vision.

With “Dinner At Dorsia”, LoDeck and The Golden Godz present an album that values originality over familiarity. Built on collaboration, carefully crafted production, and a shared commitment to meaningful hip-hop, the record offers listeners a project designed to reward repeat listens rather than passing attention.
