Cross River State’s total package artist, Cznbaby (pronounced Season Baby), has dropped his first single of 2024, “1 Night.” The song also marks the Nigerian artist’s sophomore single, following his 2022 debut with “Nkechi.” Released on January 31, the classic afro-infused tune sees the Gold River signee in lover-boy mode as he swoons over his love interest for a chance at love.
Written by Cznbaby, the single features production from the Abuja-born artist Furz Khadi, who has worked with artists such as Blaqbonez. When asked for the inspiration behind the track, Cznbaby revealed the creation of “1 Night” was more of an idea than an inspiration. “We knew what we wanted the track to sound like,” he noted.
“1 Night” took shape during a creative marathon, with producer Furz Khadi and Cznbaby taking turns to rest. He disclosed that he slept off while the producer was working on the beat and woke up hours later to find Khadi asleep. “What I heard was crazy enough for me to write on, so I looped it, wrote, and laid all the vocals down,” he stated. Furz Khadi was impressed with what he heard upon waking up, and the rest is history.
