Afrobeats star Rema has chalked a Guinness World Record. The Mavin signee achieved the feat with his global hit titled Calm Down.
The song which has a remix with Selena Gomez has made history as the first number one hit on the Official MENA Chart. The Official MENA Chart is the world’s first regional streaming chart and the first-ever official chart in the Middle East, North Africa (MENA).
Guinness World Record recognised the Nigerian star’s feat on its website. Singer-songwriter and rapper Rema, born Divine Ikubor, is now in the company of the likes of Femi Kuti and Wizkid who Guinness World Records.
In joining the ranks of music icons like Femi Kuti and Wizkid, Rema further cements Nigeria’s position as a powerhouse in the global music scene.
