Reetoxa is the recording project of Melbourne-based songwriter Jason McKee, whose music blends classic rock influences with deeply personal storytelling. After decades of writing songs, McKee teamed up with producer Simon Moro to bring his work to life, assembling a band featuring respected Australian musicians including Peter Marin (JET), James Ryan (Ross Wilson, Men at Work), and Kit Riley (Ross Wilson, Robbie Williams). Together, they have shaped a sound that balances raw rock energy with melodic depth.
Featured on the acclaimed album Soliloquy, Dancing With Lou looks back to McKee’s teenage years when a friend’s father introduced him to Lou Reed’s The Blue Mask. What began as an afternoon spent listening to vinyl and talking openly about life became a defining creative turning point. At a time when grunge dominated the musical landscape, Reed’s uncompromising approach encouraged McKee to embrace honest songwriting without self-censorship, an influence that continues to shape his work today.
