Vincent J. Rigney continues the rollout of his upcoming 2026 album Steel Town Boy with the release of “Redefined,” a track rooted in personal experience and
transformation. Blending blues and alternative rock influences, the single looks back on Rigney’s teenage years in Corby, Northamptonshire, and the role music played in changing the direction of his life.
“Redefined” centers on growth, identity, and finding purpose through creativity. The song reflects on the challenges of growing up in a steel town while discovering music as both an outlet and a source of direction. Rather than approaching the subject through nostalgia alone, Rigney focuses on how those early experiences continue to shape who he is today.
Born and raised in Corby, Rigney has built his sound around soulful songwriting, guitar-driven arrangements, and a strong stage presence. His music combines elements of blues with alternative rock, creating songs that feel grounded in personal storytelling while maintaining a direct and energetic edge.
Over the years, he has steadily built an audience through live performances, radio support, blog coverage, and playlist placements that have extended beyond the UK. His debut album, Songs From The Water Tower, explored stories connected to his hometown and personal history. Recorded at Lime Monkeys Studios in Essex with producer Edd Hartwell, whose credits include Robbie Williams, Amy Macdonald, and Ed Sheeran, the project introduced listeners to Rigney’s reflective writing style and emotionally driven sound.
With Steel Town Boy now underway, “Redefined” offers another chapter in that journey. The release also features collaborations with local and UK artists, expanding the project while keeping its focus closely tied to Rigney’s roots and experiences.
