Djena Brings Underground Energy to the Floor With “Honor”

Djena returns with “Honor,” a track that sits between minimal, tech house, and deep tech. Built on a rolling bassline, crisp drums, and a tight, hypnotic groove, the record is designed for DJs and late-night dance floors.

Emerging as a rising name in the French underground electronic scene, Djena began as a resident DJ in clubs across Montpellier. There, he developed a free-spirited and instinctive approach to mixing, quickly earning opportunities to perform alongside established artists including Luciano, Seth Troxler, Raresh, Lil Louis, and Kevin Saunderson.

In the studio, Djena draws from a wide range of influences. He has released EPs on labels such as Stamp Records, Inwave Records, and Time Has Changed. He is also one half of the duo Som.1, known for releases on Cod3 QR, founded by Laurent Garnier, and R&S Records. Their track “Ultimatum” featured on the In Order to Dance 4.0 compilation by R&S Records.

In 2023, Djena launched his own label, Layers of Truth Records, a platform that reflects his artistic direction through a carefully curated selection focused on quality.

By 2025, he continued to build momentum with the release of Motion Blur, a solo EP on his imprint that sold out its full vinyl run. As part of Som.1, the duo introduced a live act and released their album Empty View, receiving strong support and recognition.

In 2026, Som.1 returned to R&S Records with a widely praised remix of “Demon in the Mirror” by Iranian rapper Ayk. Alongside that, Djena continues his run with the split EP Honor with longtime collaborator Maco on Whoyostro, as well as the solo EP Like That on the London-based label Bien Aimer Records.

With “Honor,” Djena reinforces his place in the underground scene, delivering a focused and groove-driven record built for movement and late-night sessions.
