Fast-rising Ghanaian rapper Street Kay is back with a powerful new release, and this time he’s speaking straight to the streets.
The New Abirem/Afosu native, born Appiah Michael Oduro, just dropped “Sarafina” — a hard-hitting drill-infused track that dives deep into the tough choices young Ghanaians face daily. Legal hustle or the fast life? That’s the question Street Kay poses, with raw lyrics and a haunting hook that’s already catching fire online.
Known for blending trap, drill, hip-hop and hiplife, Street Kay first gained attention with “Certified” and “I Like It”. But “Sarafina” feels like his most personal work yet. Over a gritty beat, he paints the reality of chasing success in a system that often feels stacked against the youth.
Fans, who call themselves Streetitans, have been pushing the record heavy on TikTok and X since its release. The song is currently streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Boomplay and Audiomack.
If you’ve ever felt stuck between doing right and doing what pays, “Sarafina” is your anthem.
