Ghanaian Afro-Soul and R&B artist Darkua collaborates with Nigerian star and Chocolate City signee TAR1Q on “Know You”, a soulful, emotionally rich record about second chances, vulnerability, and holding love to its promises.
Produced by Ghanaian producer Insvne Auggie, Know You rides a laid-back, mid-tempo groove that gives the record its warmth and lets Darkua and TAR1Q’s vocals sit right up front. The result is a soulful, unhurried record that brings together the distinct styles of both artists into one compelling whole.
Darkua opens the song with firm resolve, declaring her decision to give love another chance. She then shifts into her native Ga language, asking who will truly show up for her; a plea that reflects both her vulnerability and her hope that her partner won’t let her down.
At its heart, “Know You” is a record about commitment. It captures the moment of giving a significant other one more chance, not out of weakness, but out of love, and asking them not to waste it. The push and pull between both artists brings the dynamic to life, with Darkua opening herself up and TAR1Q responding with the confidence and sincerity the moment demands.
The single was born out of the CNM x Rainlabs Songwriting Camp held in March 2026, an initiative designed to bridge the creative gap between anglophone and francophone countries across West Africa and bring artists together in an intentional, collaborative space.
Speaking about the record, Darkua shares: “TAR1Q has been an artist I have wanted to work with for a while now, and he has been on my radar. The camp presented the perfect opportunity to make this session possible. We recorded the song on the last day of the camp, and it was one of the best sessions we had.”
